Azaleas usually are listed as spring flowering, and the care guide on the Empire here says things like "in the spring, after flowering...." to reflect that.

I have a number of fall blooming azaleas that start blooming in late August or early September and I would expect that the care guide should just say "in the spring". What would be the consensus here? There are seven of them, and they are due the first serious training/repotting which I could do in March.

The picture here was October 9, and they all bloomed into November. They were planted in the front yard about 2004 and dug up three years ago. Whatever species tags they had are long gone.

Also, BTW, the Empire care guide says they should be protected af 40F -5C. I suspect that should be 24F.

I would repot in early spring, as the green buds start to push.
