I found a little seedling sprouting in my backyard, so I grabbed them up and potted them last year. He’s doing really well. Lots of new growth in this early spring we’re having in the United States.

I think it’s some sort of pine species. Perhaps southern yellow pine. But it seems like such a beautiful little sapling that I would love to bonsai.

The problem is, I just don’t know where to go at this point. I’ve been letting it establish a good route system over the past year and giving it plenty of fertile soil to grow in.

I would appreciate anyone’s suggestions on what I should do next based off of the picture I’m going to try to attach to this post.

My guess is that the sapling is at least a year old, but probably not more than two years old.
