Hi all,

I got this Japanese Black Pine Bonsai growing kit for christmas. It said that the seeds had to be in the fridge for 60 days. Eventually, during the first week of March one seedling sprouted. Now, around 2 months later it's about 3 inches high. The information in the growing kit said something about removing the growing tip when the seedling was about 3-4 inches high. This information however is for all kinds of bonsai trees. I'm not sure if i have to do this with a pine bonsai as well. Moreover i don't know what part exactly is the growing tip on my tree.
I'm fertilising my tree once each 10 days. Do you have any other general tips on growing a beautiful bonsai?

Thanks!
I've attached 2 photos.

Leave them alone and let them grow. I have black pine seedlings (just from black pine seed, not from a "bonsai" growing kit). They are in their 4th year.
It will take at least 10 more years before they will be pre-bonsai, and a lot longer to make them beautiful bonsai.
You cannot do anything with them now. There is nothing you can prune. Start studying the subject, thereś a lot of information available and you have plenty of time.

Once they are strong enough (I would wait 3 more years) you can wire them carefully and give them an innitial shape.

Thanks for your respons!
I have a few more questions if you don't mind (:
- Do you recommend holding it inside?
- How often should i water it? Now i do it almost every other day.
- What is a good information source about this type of tree?

I strongly advise against it. Pines belong outdoors.

Depends on various things like your substrate, the weather (it needs to be outdoors). Look up the care guidelines for pines (top of the page).

What is a good information source about this type of tree?

Google. Search 'black pine bonsai care'.
You'll find lots of sites, some better than others. Try and find real in-depth guides.
Also look on Youtube for movies about black pine bonsai. Learn about decandling / candle pinching before you do anything, and learn the difference between single-flush and dual-flush type pines.

It's an outside tree.
If kept inside eventually it is going to die.
