below are pictures of before and after wiring and styling my red spruce. i have two and the other is completly different! collected them in the mts of West Virginia 3 yrs ago they were only 4-5” long and bery sad looking fellas. now 14” tall with aprox 1/2” trunk. am happy with the way it turned out.

Good to see you get your feet wet trying your hand at bonsai.

I am not completely convinced this will on the long run make you happy though. I think the plant is a little young to get styled. I would recommend letting this one grow a bot more. It really is a bit think and meek for a bonsai. Consider that a good bonsai will be as a general rule, never more than 12 times as tall as the trunk is thick. (So half an inch trunk, would make a max of a 6 inch tall tree).

thanks i wil be reducing the limbs this summer begore it sets bud. would like to keep this nice a compact.

a windswept look likr they look anturaly in the mountains of West Virginia. this tree is still very young an i will have a few more yesrs before i am even close to a final design. this was my first styling. so yes it might look like crap but setting the frame work for something awasome!
