On this the first day of spring the temperature was around -3C all day with a wind chill to -12C. Walking the dog was a challenge. Then the snow started and it is still snowing and blowing. I have had another workshop cancelled,. My trees are covered in snow, and frozen as well. I have a lot of catching up to do if it ever gets warmer.
Roll on summer I hate winter.

I was in a forest nearby after we had a lot of snow and it was stunning. I do not hate winter so much, I just wish it would not last so long. Really longing for spring... Wondering what the damage of this late cold period to my collection will be. My chanomaeles has more flower buds than ever before and they started opening already - but I do not expect they will make it.

Yes, I am also worried about my trees, The wind from the east has blown under the cover and the trees are covered in snow. I had flowers on the Prunus mume and buds on another. Lots were starting to show buds. But at least when it does thaw I have automatic watering.
