Actually, there are three books written by him:

Spacewood, I have and like this book very much. Thanks for remembering it!

You are welcome my friend. Not that I read many Bonsai books but I find this one very useful and special. Love it.

I see missed to place the title and author: Bonsai Book of Practical Facts: A Collection of Brass Tacks, Tips and Briefings for Novices and Seasoned Growers by Jerome Meyer

Spacewood...

I did not know this book. Was it then co-written by John Naka too? From him I have the "Bonsai Techniques" book. Back then it was the first I read and helped me out quite a bit, even if some things have been updated since Naka wrote it.

Would you then recommend such book? Why?

Thanks...

Alain

Most of what I know about bonsai I learned from Harry Harrington´s books Bonsai basics, and Bonsai inspirations 1 and 2.

Fourth person here. Harrie knows his stuff.

You can look at the book my teacher wrote recently (2013?).

Bonsai - Gestalten mit heimischen Gehölzen
Ein Praxishandbuch für Einsteiger und Fortgeschrittene
Werner M. Busch

Not sure whether an english version has been published yet.

Nope, it does not seem to be an english version . Or at least not one that I have found yet. I´ve looked for it and returned empty handed. I´d love to get my hands on a book written by somebody whom you have in so high esteem that you actually consider him as your teacher.

Thank you I suppose?
Let's say./. He was the one invited to come to Japan and gie a demonstration on the World Bonsai Convention in Saitema last year, as the only one from Europe. And the school is one that leads to a japan-recognized certificate/degree as bonsai grower first, and three years later as bonsai teacher.
The main thing I like is the concept in his mind that you should use the tree as it is, and should not try to change the basic image of the starter. So he does not do extreme bending and grafting is only used when absolutely needed, after waiting say, 10 years for a bud to appear.

Well Leatherback I MUST have this book.
Any chance to find it in French, Italian, Spanish, or an English PDF version? I'm willing to pay for it, of course.
