Not even a simple "thank you".
It's not only a matter of being unpolite; it seems these people nowadays take it for granted (being helped for free), and gratitude is a forbidden feeling, as well as being thankful.

I have found this forum to be very helpful.

im in a sports forum for my favorite NFL team. i like the rules they have on the forum. when you first join the only post you can put up at first is in the "introduce yourself" thread. after, you can not post until your a member for a week or so. in my opinion i think if you stick around that long to wait just so you can post at least you have some kind of true interest in bonsai. or they might actually search their problem on the forum or put some effort into searching the tree species guide to figure out what species they have instead of just simply posting for a quick answer.

I would welcome this feature here too - introduction, week to read the forum and only then posting questions.
With a clear instructional pop up window after registration for searching if my question haven´t been posted before.
