It doesn't matter.
Fact is, conifers are slow growing and we don't expect nothing nearly finished before 10/20 years.
Tropicals are fast growing (in tropical conditions) and can be pretty thick and in refinement stage after 5/10 years.
So when you buy a bonsai online, be careful, as many of the commercial vendors lie about the age of the trees as if it were important, just to charge more for your young tree.

Good words! When I bought my first bush, it was overpriced (I didn’t knew), the first thing I asked was the age (I didn’t knew) and after I came here proudly to show I’ve got something cool (I didn’t knew) from a bonsai nursery. Of course I’ve got schooled (cause I didn’t knew) and from here I started to learning like no tomorrow.

(I hiding this tree. I hope it’ll surprise many of you when it’ll be revealed)

This girl is moved by challenges and surprises!
NOW I got really curious...
Let's put up a date; when are you showing us the ugly duckling turned into a swan?

It’ll be more like a.. goose.. ;)
We know, I cannot make a nicely developed old tree from a young bushling in a reasonable time. I thought, maybe next summer would be good to make a topic. There, I could have at least some secondary branches in place. Or.. could we put up that date around 2050? X)
