Just bought a bonsai as it spoke to me. Don’t know what it is

It does have slight red in it.

Understood.
It looks healthy, I would like to see what is hiding below the pebbles on the top soil, I would take the stone out (but this is me, so...)
I advise you to do a little exercise, if you are really into bonsai:

One of my books from long ago had this to say about stones. (Not quite a quote...)

I often look at a bonsai and ask myself what the stone is doing there. I almost never look at a bonsai and think it would look better with a stone.

To me having a stone under a tree represents Buddha in his final meditation when he reaches enlightenment under the tree.

So the stone to me reflects tranquility and peace , but it’s not for everyone.

I found out this is a brush cherry. Exciting new revelation, though it was through someone who posted a sad looking bonsai for $50 in my area when these are only $39 new at the garden Center.

I asked why it was so high , he said because brush cherry is undesirable and his is better quality.

To me it reflects the fact that the seller tries to distract from the fact that this is, as Mimo said, Notabonsai.
