Hi all

So two years ago I started dabbling with creating my own bonsai pot, I have experiment with it for sometime now as I had to acquire the correct tools needed.

I am finally so close to the end of my project and feeling quite accomplished by it, it still has a few touch ups to do with it before I can plant my ficus in it and start creating my landscape.

I do have one or two questions that some of you may be able to answer:

1) Once I have planted my ficus I would like it to grow aerial roots towards the river, could I put a removable glass case over it to increase humidity.
2) What is the best way to keep the moss healthy to create better aesthetics
And lastly
3) Marks out of 10...

Of course the tree will be in the pot in the first picture with out its current container, hopefully this gives an idea of the finished product though.

Thanks

Chris Bowen

Hello,
you must also drill drainage holes in the hollow you will fit your ficus in...

Hi Ricky

Thanks for your comment.

Yeah I will do this once I have finished hand polishing the hollow as the type of material allows me to do this.

In an earlier stage of the project I had 2x 10mm and 4x 5mm holes, the larger holes were for drainage and the smaller holes were to stabilise the tree with wires!

But from how it started to what it is at present, I would like to believe I have done a pretty good job...

As I stated before though there are still a few finishing touches to be added, such as ripples and a touch of dry brush white acrylic on to added running water effect to the river, finish polishing the hollow, add some legs of sort and then create some sort of humidity tray!

Feed back on my questions would be greatly appreciated too.

Kind regards

Chris Bowen
