Mine are not thickening either, but they are being baby-bended as required.
Not all of them, one will be a broom style.

as far I'm aware, all bonsai are from seeds
But it's fun to sow your own trees.
Last summer I planted seeds from zelkovas and now I have almost 100 seedlings, so if anybody want some, I'm in Antwerp, Belgium

Well....that depends on if you consider growing from air layers, grafts and cuttings beeing from seeds

In fact, they are still from seeds.

Two of my JBP from seed: 1/12 years old.
I like the double trunk and the baby-bend ones.
