Hi,

I have been wanting for some time to buy a new prebonsai. Some time = 20 days. I already have a juniper and am wondering what decidous outdoors species there would be in a climate were the temp does not get under 30 F ever. I am doing a bit of research and thought this would be a good place to start. Any suggestion would be nice.

What species would do well in your weather? Well, just look out the window - the woods are full of trees that survive well.

OK, that wasn't much help. See what there are and look up in particular on the website here. If it isn't on the list it probably won't work well as bonsai. Magnolia, for example, absolutely refused to shrink its leaves. The local nurseries usually sell things adapted to the local climate. Look them up, too. The advantage there is that they come with species tags that tell you everything about them. The trees in the woods don't.

Get something native that's suitable for bonsai.
