This azalea is at my in-laws neighbors front yard. I believe it would make a great bonsai. Problem is I doubt the neighbor is willing to let me dig it up,
It goes up and to the right, where the flowers bloom. The in-laws will kindly ask when they see the neighbor. It's at least 50 years old.

Have you thought about what you would like the final tree to look like?

Not all old plants make great bonsai..

I'm one year into keeping bonsai and thought this would make a nice project. I like the look of the old bark and the way the branch sweeps to the right.

well i hope you have a good plan and dig up at the right time cause it would be a bummer to kill such a nice tree with some age.

I doubt the neighbor will allow me to take it, but if they did I'd wait until the fall and place it the ground in my yard until early next spring.
