Hi i bought a special pot yesterday, got an idea to plant something similar to a tree. The first tree that came to my mind was the bonsai. I know they grow slow but im wondering if there are any that grow faster. It does not have to be a bonsai im pleased aslong the tree can grow outside the pot.
If you wonder how the pot works there is a video on youtube, its called a terraplanter. Im attaching a picture of the pot in the thread.
I have no experiense with growing bonsai so if there is an easier alternative ill be pleased to try it. I realy hope there is a tree that can grow on the pot or somethin similar.
Sorry for the bad english and thank you for the help in advance!

Bonsai are not special species. It is about techniques that you apply. If you want a fast growing plant that deals well with being container grown, consider Japanese maple or Yew if you have a reasonably shaded spot. For more sunny spots think about junier or pine?

Thank you for the tips, i think the japanese yew is the most intresting one since it has to cling to the pot. Its basicaly gonna grow outside the pot and has to be able to cling with its roots around it. In the beginning i will strap it with a rope until it gets a good grip on the pot. Im not sure if a tree can grow on the Terraplanter pot since there is no earth. The tree will grow on the outside and then you fill the pot with wster from the inside.

I have no idea if it will even work, hehe. But its a sweet and uniqe idea i think. Thats why i reached out here, to see if someone knew of a tree thats small and can cling to the pot. I guess the free watersupply is abit limiting asweel since i guess to much water aint good asweel.

You might grow orchids like that but a tree that needs it's roots in soil? I doubt it. Have to cover in moss which would not be easy
