Message of the World Bonsai Friendship Federation:
"SABURO KATO MEMORIAL AWARD"







Two trophies will be awarded to the grand prize winner: the “Saburo Kato Memorial Bonsai Award” which the winner will be awarded to keep, and a large rotating
trophy with his/her name engraved on it which will remain with the winner until the next WBFF contest is held. The awards will be presented at the World Bonsai Convention in China in 2013.The winner will also receive transportation to and from WBC 2013.

In addition to the grand prize winner, 4 runner up entries will be selected and receive special awards, and 25 additional as “Exceptional” will receive Exceptional Entry Certificates. 170 additional entries will each receive “Honorable Mention Entry Certificates”. Thus, 200 trees selected by the judges, representing all 9 regions of WBFF will be exhibited during WBFF 2013, and a permanent record of the contest entries and winners will be published in the WBFF "Bonsai of the World" Book IV.

The “WBFF 2013 Bonsai Photo Contest” will be conducted primarily via the internet. Entries submitted to each regional coordinator will be collated and judged following the submission deadline of December 31 2012. Each region is then permitted to forward up to 50 world class bonsai entries representing their region for the final judging in the beginning of 2013.
