Well, continuing with this tree´s evolution here is one more pic with this Palmatum´s current status. This one after repotting the tree to a more suitable dark green glazed pot and after enduring some heavy structural pruning. I´m still having problems with the apex´s shape, but that is something I´ll be tackling on the future.

For now, the tree keeps responding reasonably well to heavy pruning and to the more frequent pinching of new buds. It is developing a very nice ramification and the palette of colors does not cease to amaze me. This spring, for some reason, it has decided to sprout its leaves with red edges and yellowish shades within the center of the leaves... Go figure. Springs before this, leaves were always depicting a green color.

Looks nice. Most of my maples have a red edge to their young leaves. Odd though that there is such a difference. More sun this year perhaps?

Honestly, I have no idea. That color variation keeps puzzling me. As for the amount of sun... I wouldn't know, last year was not that different in that regard, but who knows.

I might start Googling an explanation for it. I'm not sure I'll find one, though.

Oh, and thanks. Glad you liked it.
