Well, another year, another partial defoliations ... this isn´t a low maintenance landscape for sure

But.. the effort at least is paying off. Turning into a really nice piece!

For one of these, what do you do about root trimming and refreshing the soil? Do you bare root everything, and then put them all back?

I have a major problem getting 5 back in the right places in the right angles. I don't have enough hands for them. There must be a technique I am missing.

Well now that you mentioned it - I probably should repot it after all those years
But not this season yet. I believe root trimming would encourage stronger rough growth so I am waiting until it will be really needed. All the trees are healthy so far. But I plan to repot it as a 1 tree of course, these will be totally connected with their roots now.
