Impressive prices was created by Auk

What is often the most impressive about certain bonsai, is their price. For a real bonsai, considering the amount of knowledge, work, materials and time that go into it, that price is justified. Sometimes the price, for a tree that is mediocre at best, but sold as a masterpiece, it is a rip off.

Let's compare:

I wonder if people can estimate the price. Don't cheat by looking up the images :)

Are they the same price, or do we guess for both?

They are not the same price, so you should guess both.

The first is a work of art, at a justified . . Hm 7500 euro. The second is merely formed as a tree. I would guess max 850euro?

I hope nobody could actually think like that. "The first one is artistic but the second just looks like a tree, it has no character."

One of the two prices is quite accurate, the other is not and I think you need to reread what LB wrote - especially read between the lines.

I know that LB doesn't actually believe that, I was just saying that I hope no one could.

AUK: I think that this is a great learning tool for new people getting into the hobby/art. Visually understanding that there's a difference between 2 similar size and species of trees, is very important.
On my computer, the first tree is the one with less leaves and looks smaller (I have no frame of size). Is that the one that cost more or less?

Wait. what? why? I would not buy the first one. No way. If anything it is worth 25 - 50 euros or nothing, it doesnt even have shape. The second one has great tapper, interestingly old looking trunk, great canopy, decent ramification, definitely looks like a tree.

The first one. Even the way it is planted is ugly. And what's up with that rock? are you buying the tree or the rock?
