Hello, all! I'm not "new" to Bonsai as I'm not really "into" it. However... I've been propagating some Ficus Benji's and was thinking that perhaps one of them may be able to become a Bonsai.
My question is...
How large must a root system be before planting into a Bonsai pot?
Would it be in my best interest to plant these cutting in soil first and then later move to a Bonsai pot?
My current clippings are showing moderate roots while in water.
Any info/advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Welcome to the bonsai community! I wouldn't plant into a bonsai pot soon. Plant in a 1 or 5 gallon pot. Pictures would be helpful to see the size of your seedlings. To answer any of your other questions we do need pictures!! I can offer more advice when I see your babies
