Such sadness. Our nights are now in the mid 50's (10-15C) so time to bring the tropicals inside. I've read that plants don't like to be moved around a lot. Even if we have warmer days than the above temps, once plants come inside is it best to leave them inside rather than moving outside for a day of sunshine? I have crassula, P. Afra, a ficus, pachira aquatic, umbrella tree.

Plants don't like moving around and since you have quite the collection of trees that don't survive cooler temperature very well, I say move them inside now. I am not one to talk about cooler nights, because I live down in Texas, but doing the best I can to help you Ruth. Just make sure your plants get enough sunlight.

Thanks Josh and rtmann. I will plan on keeping them inside now. I have a group of windows that face east and get full sun until about 1pm.
Thanks.

Nope! That's what soap and water are for. That table has seen a lot. Three kids homeschooled through middle school, meas, sewing projects, play-doe, toys, science projects, and now bonsai.
I make such a mess. Next spring I'm planning on building a work station under the deck on our walkout. It will be a great place to play with bonsai.

Just keep them fugs watered well in the first weeks, or leaves will fall!

Thanks for the insight leatherback, it is much appreciated. I will do that. I panicked a bit with the original post regarding colder nights. I did more reading and looked at our predicted temps for the next few weeks and they are all back outside again. They were inside just an hour or so. I took an old cover for some outdoor patio furniture, but two chairs together my little family of plants pass the night covered and cozy. In the day they can enjoy the sun. I saw how the growth on my plants exploded once I put them outside so until I have to (now that I'm done freaking out) they are outside. It's funny-I was so reluctant to put them out, except for the junipers-I knew they had to be outside, silly me.

Plants are quite resilient. Dont baby them too much :).
My ficus are still outside. Forgot to bring them in, and am travelling. Do not want our my wife to break her back so i guess theyll have to survive till my return..
