If you could go back to the beginning of your bonsai hobby. What would you tell yourself?
I would tell myself to be more patient as bonsai is not grown overnight. :oops:

How did your impatience influence the process?

I'd tell myself to water some of my trees better. I miss my very first myrtle

1. dont water it like crazy and soak it like sponge
2. have patience and dont overcare like baby
3. be more informed how to take care of tree and better understanding on bonsai art before stepping up

Nothing as it would be cheating and I would learn nothing from it

I think I've got too many trees early. So I feel I didn't appreciate each species for its full glory.
Also, I lost my first tree, I think if I was more clued up on bonsai soil and the importance of it then it could have been avoided. The most impacting experiences create the most lasting lessons. Sorry that you lost your tree, I'm sure lots of people know how it feels.

Get many trees. Select on trunk.movement, taper an nebari. Make sure you get at leat 25 so you do not fiddle with your trees. When these are healthy and developing. Kick one out for every new tree. New trees should bhave more.potential than your avergae tree. Tos out the least potential ones.
