For me the internet is a place of information but can be a place of desinformation and that is the worst thing to happened with bonsai lecture because i see things that are said diferent like the position of bonsai, sun light, etc... so i try to look for source of information that have a solid background.

I think you will find that also books are just the opinion of the author. A lot depends on the location where the trees are grown, the substrate used and experience people have. Only very few things are universally true. Figure out how to keep specific species happy and healthy on your own, using the different opinions as a guide.

+1

And any well written book explaining history, theory and basics should be fine. Rest is own research and discovery.

Here is another classic for you -- Bonsai Techniques I by John Yoshio Naka / www.amazon.com/Bonsai-Techniques-John-Yoshio-Naka/dp/0930422317

However too expensive unless you find it somewhere in PDF.

This here is another decent book -- RHS The Little Book of Bonsai: Master the Art of Growing Miniature Trees / www.amazon.com/RHS-Little-Book-Bonsai-Miniature/dp/1784721670

Still, it contains information that you will find in almost every starter book.

And something little different from the common reads -- Trees: Their Natural History by P. A. Thomas / www.amazon.com/Trees-Natural-History-P-Thomas/dp/052145963X

Its all about what are trees and their nature, fundamental read by my opinion.
