Hi guys
Not been on since last year and the blossoming trees have kick jumped my love for bonsai once more.

First a few hemlock young uns I collected.

And this seemed like fat as I found in dumped while running about.. left besides my van ha ha fate indeed as I wasn't sure what species it was but I love the bark and now I have some leafs springing up from the base.

It's in a shady part of the garden in a larger pot with a little extra soil I did not disturb the roots. I've noticed life in it after I thought it was dead upon finding but thought what the hell it will make nice jin practice at worst. There's also some smaller (what id call saplings) in there though they appear different species wondered if anybody fancied a guess?

Thanks and looking forward to sharing more soon :)

Those leaves do not look like they belong to that bark/trunk. Maybe something rooted over the base?

I thought so too but i scraped back a bit of soil and they are growing out of the trunk, maybe once they have grown bit more I will remove some soil from the base to make sure.

I still can't find an ID. I'm guessing at Prunus???
