So my grandfather was gifted this tree when i was a child a little under 20 years ago. He has since passed away and my grandmother has been taking care of it for the past few years. She was about to throw it out when i stepped in last year. Though not bonsai im still trying my hardest to bring it back to life and possibly air layer the top off sometime next summer or later. But my current question is what subspecies of ficus is this? I cant seem to find anything that has branches or leafs like this tree.

I would start with looking for the species. This probably is a ficus benjamina
