I recently adopted two ginseng ficus trees that were bought from costco. They have both been left to grow freely and mostly neglected for the past year, I am unsure if I should trim them or repot them. I have attached a photo of them. Any help would be appreciated.

This forum is not really about house plants, but OK. You will need to get these healthy. Repotting may help.

I would not even consider a Ficus Ginseng a mallsai. A mallsai has had at least some level of training - though that's the usual ugly symmetrical S-shape.
A Ginseng is a malformed monstrosity with an ugly, grafted top.

Thank you I was aware that the plants I have aren't really labeled as bonsai trees, but I was really just looking for care tips. They could eventually become a more bonsai like tree with proper care yes?

No need to be mean, they are just like babies. It's not their fault they aren't the prettiest things in the world. And it's not my fault for taking them off someone else's hands. I just want help to cultivate them into more bonsai like growth.

If you need more tips on how to care for ficus, check the Tree Species section (top of the page).

Bonsai is the art of creating a small tree that looks like a tree in nature - which is not the same as making a houseplant look like a bonsai.
If you take proper care they can recover and look nice, but you will never get the roots and the trunk right. It will never be a decent bonsai.
