Hi,
Bought this starter Pine but do not know the exact species.

It is important to know what species it is - there are different types requiring different methods.
What did the shop where you purchased it say it was?

They just stated that it was a pine. But did not state the species. Looks like a red of easten white pine but I am unsure.

Looks like a Japanese white pine or like a Japanese white pine too - which is a very important difference.
Can you ask them?

I'm being silly... the difference would be clear (but the photo isn't, can't see how many needles there are in each bundle)
