TOPIC: Please help me identify my bonsai.

Please help me identify my bonsai. 2 months 1 week ago #36583

I was told this is a Black Olive, or black something. I couldn't hear them right. I've searched the internet but this doesn't look like a black olive.

That looks like a Chinese yew tree, a rare species of it.

I think it looks lovely :)

I don't think it does. Looks like a podocarpus (better close up of the foliage would help).

I think it looks lovely :)

Thanks guys. I looked up the words. Chinese Yews are also called Podocarpus and also known as Buddhist Pine. So both of you are correct. Thanks again.

You sure? Chinese Yews are Taxus. Podocarpus is not.

Or... that's what I thought. I see Podocarpus is called Chinese Yew on a couple of bonsa sites. Strange.
