I recently purchased the small bonsai from a local nursery. Unfortunately, the label came with no information on what type of plant it is. I was hoping one of could help me identify it? Thanks in advance!

Call the nursery. They sold it and should be able to tell you.
It probably is a ligustrum spp.

I would call it a mallsai, instead of a bonsai. ( read about it )

You were right about both. I repotted and used completely different soil. Thanks again!
