This is my first purchase of a bonsai. My intention is to have this in my office... Now I have looked on this forum and noticed everyone saying junipers will die being inside. This bonsai was purchased at my local nursery the guy said if it has adequate light it can be inside. I was planning to buy a full spectrum growing light. What is everyones thoughts?

Its not really about the light when it comes to keeping a plant indoors. The problem is your juniper needs to go dormant in winter, so it needs cold weather for a longer period of time. In the office it will not go dormant, thus making it weak and eventually it will die.

If you have a chance, keep it outdoors all year long.

You will get the exact same answer as all the others with questions about junipers, offices and people that claim to sell bonsai but have no clue and give wrong advice.

It's simple;
Inside it will die.

I am sure that in YOUR office it will do great. It really is the other people's offices that are the problem. :blush:

Thanks for the information I have a balcony is there any amount of time I can have the bonsai inside. For example I have a meeting pop it inside then put it back out for the rest of the day. I would imagine the ratio would be outside 22hr inside 2hr?

Bonsai is not about moving them back and forth. Trees don't like to be moved.

This is indeed what in japan would be done. Have a tree in dusplay in the home at a certain point fitting the season. Then after a few days it would be moved outside again.
