I got this Juniper as a gift and was already yellowing. I'm guessing it was due to being inside for far too long. I haven't had any luck bringing it back and it's gone through a couple cold nights outside. Should I give up?

Nice little tree, nice movement, but it looks pretty dead to me.
Junipers can be dead and have green foliage for months; if that one was already yellow, it is possible it was dead already.

Luckily, I can take it back. I was hoping though someone would say, "It's not dead yet! Do A, B or C and it'll come back!" Might be a lost cause...

I am not so sure it is dead. But I think you would be better to take it back sooner rather than later. If you get a replacement do not have it inside even for one night.

Is it yellow & soft, still holding moisture> Or is it yellow and crisp?
If it is brittle and basically crumbles is certainly dead. If the foliage is still soft and full of water it could be just in poor health due to overwatering. Impossible to tell for me from the picture.
