Several messages today say not to move them in and out, and give good reasons. I have several tropical trees that stay indoors during the winter, crowded in a bay window where they get some sun, but they have to compete with each other, and I can't seem to resist getting more. Today the high was 77F, the low tonight 65, the high tomorrow 78 and that continues until next week, when what Alabama humorously calls winter returns. I moved them out just to get the sunshine and air motion. Is that liable to hurt?

The trees that stay outside come in only rarely. Last year in April the temperature was forecast to drop to 12F, so I moved them into the unheated garage. That was the only time they have been inside, but they had all their leaves out and it would have killed them. Last month it dropped to 16F a couple of nights. I put them on the ground and arranged a tarp over them.
