This is my first post and I was wondering what tips do you have for a beginner like me. I actually heard about this because I was doing research for a Sophomore biology project and found this is something I want to do. I'm 16 and I don't really have money to spend I've got the basic tools to start out with. For my first tree I was wondering what I should start with, I have access to a Japanese Maple, Red Oak trees, An Apple tree, Trumpet vines and a few others. If I did use any of those how would I go about it?

Try a Ficus, an Elm or the Trident Maple.
Study the needs of your tree before buying it.
