I think I pulled out the conclusion! Some use Sagina as ground cover for bonsaïs in half shade, but it’s not ideal, cause the roots competes with the roots of the tree, so best to use « rootless » orders, like Dicranales, Bryares, etc.. ?

I live in a dessert so my native moss pickins are pretty slim. I’ll have to buy some. :0)

Actually NO roots. Moss doesn't have roots. They have "threadlike rhizoids that anchor them to their substrate" (yes, I copy/pasted that. From en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moss)

So, I scraped moss from the street, washed it, placed it, and now I'm off to the club.
