I think that if you feel people are being ridiculed in this thread, you really need to learn how to accept feedback.

Constructive criticism and feedback always welcome. Not rude and sarcastic behaviour that some members display. Which is why I always appreciate feedback from you.

Thanks Leatherback. So am I right in saying that Zelkova Nire is a sort of (wrong) commercial name for Chinese Elm... whilst the "true" Zelkova variety normally used for bonsai is the Serrata (a.k.a. Japanese Elm??)... which, I am aware, is indeed very different having sharper-pointed leaves (and with deeper "toothed" edges)... and indeed quite elegant!

I am not sure. Zelkova nire is wrong. Theexact why I do not really understand. There is discussion about this name, and whether azelkova nire exists (no) and why it is used. Just call your plants ulmus and you will be fine.
