Hello I am new here. just got my first juniper bonsai. I live in Nebraska and don't think I can leave the tree out all winter. any suggestions?
also I have a crabapple in my yard that has rust so I am fairly certain that if I leave my tree outside it will get cedar apple rust.
read that junipers can not live inside.

Read a couple of topics, this is a regularly asked question.
Junipers must be outdoors. They do not belong indoors and will die.
'Some junipers are not sensitive to this fungus, but if you have one that is: get rid of the crabapple or the juniper.

This would mean you have junipers in the region too. Rust is an annual occurance on the rosaceae host, as far as I know. So it gets infected from another juniper.
