Hi Everyone,
During my trip in Kyoto I bought a Japanese mapple growing in the moss (see pictures).
Now that its growing I have no idea what it needs and cant find anything online for this stage of the tree.
Could you help me please ?
For instance:
- what is the sun exposition ? Water needs ?
- Do I need to change the pot ? Do I need to separate the two young trees ?
Thanks by advance for your help !

Hello, welcome.
They really don't look like Japanese Maple to me.
And...
They are only seedlings.
Let them grow, in dappled sun (if they are Japanese Pines, which I think they are, they must go to the sun as soon as they are healthy and strong; do it slowly (over a period of some weeks), don't put them directly in full sun at once, they will die.)
Water when the soil feels dry to the touch, get rid of the moss, and yes, separate them into different pots.
But..
Take a good look FIRST:

Hi Clicio,
Thanks a lot for your reply, indeed you are right these are Japanese Pines ! (the guy selling them must have mis-translated)
I'll follow your instructions thanks. They are already in full sun (behind a window 4h of direct sun per day) and they seem ok (the moss is not happy though).
It's really hot these days so I'm not sure I should continue to do that (the pot is heating)
In any case thanks again
