Hello,
I recently bought this Bonsai, and am wondering if you can help me identify it. Also, p,ease excuse the poor trimming. When I got it, it seemed no one had trimmed it at all. I would eventually like to shape it into the formal upright style. Does this seem like a good idea? Also, if you have any good recommendations for techniques to try out on this tree, please recommend them. I am very new to Bonsai, but I think they're amazing, and I am looking forward to experimenting.
Eventually I will report it. I liked the "scene" pot when I bought it, but the more I see pro bonsais, the more I like the trees with just a pot or a stone or two.
Anyways, any advice you have is much appreciated!

Juniper. Belongs outdoors, will die if kept indoors, eventually. Young plant that can hardly be called a bonsai.
Look at the care guidelines and search the forum. Junipers like this are discussed very frequently.

@Auk thanks. When you say the plant is young, and hardly a bonsai, what does this mean for how I take care of it? Is it too young to be wired? I have read that it is often better to let your plant grow a large/interesting trunk before putting it in a bonsai pot. As this is not possible, do I just wait, or are there techniques I should be using to encourage particular types of growth in young plants?
Thanks for the response. I'll keep doing research on junipers.
