I bought this really cool bonsai at a general store.
They had a few and they all looked in pretty bad shape, so I decided to get this baby.
I pruned some bad leaves this morning and removed some branches.
This is my first bonsai.
I think it is some sort of Ficus Tree but I am not sure

Thank you. And yes, those leaves are huge.

Got to do some reading.

New soil, fertilized and secured.
It came with a few broken and rotten roots and not very strong.
Just going to let it sit and get stronger.
Lets see what happens now.

Is the new soil a mix of...?
I would take the stone out of the pot, the roundness of the roots turned into trunks is more than enough, in my humble opinion.

The soil is an all purpose Bonsai mixed mix of 100% organic double-sifted compost mulch, calcined clay, vermiculite and Frit.
The rock is a concession to my nine year old who got really excited with the little tree.
Its our first bonsai try, so we kinda worked together
