I have 2 what I believe are coastal redwoods in my backyard that I initially thought about just removing completely. Then I remembered a bonsai shop I visited in Hayward a few years ago thought got my juices flowing about bonsai. At the time I had a town home and was unable to buy a tree.

I had a total of 8 trees in the backyard 4 of which are huge and will stay as part of my landscape. The two in the attached photos are about 1inch- 1 1/2 inch diameter and about 6-7 ft tall. My questions is should I attempt to remove these trees next spring? Regardless I wanted to get rid of them as 6 huge trees will be too much for my fence line.

If the trees do look worthy what should be my next steps in care. I have a few books about bonsai from before and they go over care etc but I'm really stuck on what to do if I do decide to take these down the road of bonsai.

You're right the files were too big! Hopefully they aren't too small now. Thank you.
