I recently bought an olive tree (Olea europaea). The plant has more than doubled in height over the past three months or so. However, it is growing in height with no visible branches (see photo). Is this normal? Do I need to do something to "induce" formation of branches?
Thank you for your help

It's a sapling.
Olives live centuries; let it grow and the branches will come.

Yes it only a seedling, you could cut it down and it would then break buds, but it is getting late in the year.
