Hello, I need some help.

Recently my friend bought a bonsai tree and it started to die and they were going to throw it out. I said I would take it as I love bonsai's and thought some thing could be done to save it.

Can anyone help me identify the problems and identify what specie it is so I can care for it properly?

I'm sorry, but it looks like a dead plant.

Resembles a Ficus, but it had been dead for a long time.
