Hi everyone! My girlfriend just got me a fukien tea bonsai and I have been reading a lot of stuff on this site learning as much as I can. I noticed that it suggests to use rain water; however, I live in southern California where it rains very little and I have "very hard" water according to the most recent water report for my area.
Any suggestions on what to do or if this is something I should worry about? Thanks so much!

Don't worry about it. Use whatever you have makes little or no difference

i live in southern California as well. Riverside area, i water my trees with regular tap water. yes indeed the water is very hard but have yet to have any problems. nothing i can notice, all my trees are thriving and doing well. i guess the only affect i notice is i do get some calcium build up at the base of some of my trees (not all) but i just brush them with a soft tooth brush and its gone.
when it does rain i try to collect and water with that or since my trees are outside they get rained on as well.
