It's been a week since I bought a Ginseng ficus but the leaves keep turning yellow/black and dropping, I'v followed care guides exactly on how to water and for lighting, so I even got a grow light. Even mist it every day and have some sort of humidity tray in place. I just checked the roots today and it looks like it needs repotting, AND there are a load of insects in the root ball, worms, spiders, small white flies and I suspect spider mites. Please tell me what would you do if you were in this situation. THANK YOU!

There is nothing very wrong with this plant, except it is not a bonsai and it should adapt to this new ambient.

Ah ok, well I have not started styling it into a bonsai yet, but I'm very sure a Ficus (Ginseng) can be a bonsai and does it need repotting? Thanks!

I very seriously doubt it can be; I for one have hardly ever seen an example of an bonsai that started life as a ficus ginseng. Unless you live in the tropics, it will not happen.

You do not need to repot it.

Blurben,
The problem with ginseng ficus is they are sort of a Frankenstein. The bottom bulbous roots and the leaves are separate plant species. You can see the graft in the 5th picture. You can use this to practice some pruning techniques but the roots are just never going to look right. The plant looks ok health wise.
