Hello, I have bought my lovely boxus harlandii in September, it was happy untill a few weeks ago. Maybe it's heating season, maybe something else. I watered it as adviced in garden centre where I bouy ot, dipped in water when soil was dry. Now it's so sad. I hope I didn't mess up anything and it isn't rotting but the brown residue worries me.

Box are hardy and should not be inside. That is what is killing this plant. It needs to be outside in the air and cold. It also looks very dry, which could also be a lack of humidity.

The condition started around the same time as the heating season, the humidity is down so what you are saying makes perfect sense. Thanks a lot, I will put the tree outside for a bit every day and see how it goes. I'm n England so it's wet and dark outside this time of the year. I will keep the tree indoors during the night.

It's a tree, not a puppy. Switching climates 2 times a day is NOT a good idea.

Put it out and leave it out if you want it to live. Right now it might be raining, but that is normal conditions here, being in and dry and too hot is not.

Thank you for your advice. It was bought as an indoor tree but obviously is not happy. I'm putting it outside and see what happens.
