I just purchased the Juniper Starter Kit (the tree is beautiful and survived shipping well) and am wondering what specific species of juniper you sent me. Do the care instructions vary much according to species or is the whole genus very similar in what it needs? Also, I wonder whether repotting the tree from its current plastic pot should wait until early spring or if new root growth will occur in the winter. I live in central New York State and we're about to get hit this weekend with a serious storm and cold, so I will need to protect it from frost for a few days, at least.

Good questions. Care instructions dont vary much, but you have a Chinese Juniper. I'd definitely wait til early spring with repotting. And yeah, it sounds good you protect the tree at the coldest moments of this winter.
