Hi, I am new to Bonsai. Although I have always been interested in the hobby, have even tried to get into it back in college about 20 or so yrs ago. Unfortunately never had the time to really get into the hobby back then. Fast forward I now have the time and patience to get more serious into this hobby. Being in Ohio and wanting to get a head start I purchased a few tropical plant to start. Picked up a Ficus Microcarpa, a olive tree, and also a lime tree that I started growing in the Spring of 2018. Question is can I do anything with these plants now or just let them grow at least another year before doing any pruning and forming? Thanks and please take it easy as I am just now finding this forum and have been reading and watching lots of books and videos for the last week or so.

I'm not a bonsai expert but I am fimiliar with all these trees, I even grow them in my garden from seeds and from what I know, it seems that only the ficus is mature enough to deal with.
The olive and lime looks too young for that.
