Junipers and especially needly junipers, are harde to bring to species level. One of the commonly seen needle junipers is squamata. But it looks a little bit to yellow-green instead of blue-green.

My guess would be, considering how you got it, that you have a Juniperus procumbens nana - aka 'Greenmound Juniper'
If you do a search for these trees on a shopping platform you will see why people are surprised at the price you paid.

And yeah, it should really have a place outside. Most plants have a big problem growing indoors. And junipers die inside 999 out of a 1000 times.
