HI All,

This is more of a question about where to begin with bonsai? I have some seeds germinating now but I'm told that it takes three to four years of growing from seeds to get a viable product. I have been watching the getting started with bonsai course here on bonsaiempire.com as well. However I'm not quite sure where to begin or where to get supplies. I have a set of inexpensive tools that my wife bought me for xmas, but i have no idea where to get the simplest of things such as soil etc. I called several nurseries near me and they all acted like I was an alien when I asked if they carried pumice for gardening for example. I want to have the basics in hand before I go out and buy a plant, try to clean it up, and use it for bonsai. I'm near pittsburgh, PA if that helps anyone give some starting words of wisdom.

Buy it online even Amazon has the best soil mixes.

I get mine online. Did you check the bonsaiempire website? It has an overview of shops and clubs per country
