Hi all
Apologies for repost but including picture this time!
I have a 7 year old Chinese elm which was going strong until I went on sabbatical for 3 months and left it with my parents. Just about all the leaves have fallen off and those that are left are dry and yellow. I think it's because the room was too warm and it was over watered. I'll try and add a photo later but is this recoverable and what should I do to get my tree healthy again?!
Thanks

...looks dead.
You could place it outside ( where it belongs), in the shade and water mildly. But again, it's probably dead

Yeah, put it outside in a shady area with maybe an hour of morning sun. Keep moist, but do not allow to get soaking wet. Wait. I would suspect new growth to be visible in 4-6 weeks.

Thanks for the advice. I've put it outside under a chair to protect it from the rain. Would it be worth cutting off any of the smaller branches or would you just leave it a few weeks to see what happens?

I would just leave it alone.
