Hi All - this is my first real tree that I have pruned and trimmed from a small nursery plant I picked up. I think I did an ok job with pruning off the right branches and cleaning thibgs up, my question is should I continue to take off foilage and wire it so its exactly how I like it or should I leave it as it to let it grow. I would like this to grow to a full size bonsai one day. I dont want to stress it and do to much to stunt its growth and potentially kill it. Thanks

If you want to grow it to a "full size" bonsai (whatever size that might be) you should let it grow freely first for x amount of years.
Most bonsai trees get created from bigger plants that get cut back significantly. On the young plant you have there there's not much that can be done now besides letting it grow.

Great thanks for the note. How many years would you think it will take for the tree to double in size? Should I simply keep it in this larger pot or plant it in my backyard? I do live in Ontario Canada so we have long cold winters herem

Another part of the empire site is a map and list of clubs. There are several in Ontario, and your best bet is to find the one closest to you and find out what people in your climate do. The Toronto club is pretty big.

I did not know that part of the empire existed and I've been searching in vain for a club near me, thank you!
